Class of 2018 Senior Dues

Senior dues are a requirement of all students; therefore no student will be allowed to participate in senior activities if their account is not up-to-date, including owing fundraising money for other clubs, sports or activities. Senior dues does NOT include tickets to the Prom or Senior Trip.

The Edison Light awarded the Best Online News Paper

The Edison Light is an online newspaper maintained by the Journalism students. It was awarded the Best Online Newspaper at the Adelphi University Press Day. Journalism student Alexandria Ganesh recieved an honorable mention for her feautured article on the website.

New York's first SAT School Day

On Wednesday, April 5 2017, City of New York will be having its first SAT School Day. On SAT School Day the SAT Test will be given free of charge to all 11th graders. The exam will begin promptly at 8:00 A.M. and will last approximately 4 hours. Also, on the same day and at the same time, the 10th graders will take the PSAT Test.
This will be a full instructional day and we will be following a special, modified, bell schedule (check below)

New Addition to Edison's Leadership Team

The Superintendent of Schools is proud to announce Stacy Conway, Kayon Pryce and Andrea Scolavino to Principal Ojeda's Leadership Team as appointed Assistant Principals effective February 7th, 2017. Parent's will have an oppurtunity to meet the three new Assistant Principals at the next Parent-Teacher Association meeting.

Edison Parent Informational Workshop

Edison is hosting Parent Informational Workshops for parents whose children are currently enrolled in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Topics such as, "Get to know how to help your child succeed in High School and beyond" and many others will be discussed at these workshops. Parents are encouraged to attend as they will be introduced to their child's guidance counselor and be able to ask them questions.

2016 Sloan Award Recipient, Dr. Savitzky

Dr. Margaret Savitzky, a CTE teacher for 14 1/2 years, was one of seven educators from schools citywide honored with the 2016 Sloan Award for Excellence in Teaching Science and Mathematics.

Kaplan SAT Test Prep Classes

This Spring, Thomas A. Edison CTE High School is hosting a SAT prep course taught by Kaplan. The 10 session course is set to prepare Juniors for the May 6, 2017 SAT exam. Classes will begin in early March and will finish early May. For the class schedule and registration information please check the attached flyer below.

Ascend Educational Fund, Inc Scholarship

This spring, Ascend Educational Fund will award scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to immigrant students and children of immigrants who are graduating from a New York City high school to attend public or private colleges and universities, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status.
