The Parent Teacher Association of Thomas Edison was established to promote the educational excellence of the school and welfare of its students. Since then it has served as a conduit for the transmission of parental concerns to the administration. The association works closely with the Principal and acts as a communications system between parents and school for the exchange of views in both curricular and non- curricular areas.
Welcome to the Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Education High School (TAEHS) Parent Teacher Association web page! The TAEHS PTA is a volunteeer organization that joins parents and teachers in a common venture: enhancing education to enrich the lives and learning experiences of our children.
This goal is accomplished in a variety of ways, including sponsoring specific programs for the students and parents, sharing parenting support, providing information to parents about the school and activities, and creating opportunities for administration, teachers, parents and students to work together and communicate with one another. All student's families are automatically members of the PTA, although your voluntary contribution will help support our activities. We encourage your active participation and support, and look forward to seeing you at our meetings and events. The PTA is organized and constituted in accorance with the NYC Chancellor's Regulations A-660.
By-Laws: The PTA by-laws were revised by a vote of the general membership on November 9, 2011 to make them compliant with changes in the A-660.
